NFS Delivers again July 23, 2010 JB (Minneapolis, MN USA) The controls took some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it it all flows (which could be said of most Wii games). They actually give five or six different options of controls, so you can experiment and decide what feels most comfortable for you. I like the e-brake/oversteer/drift option, it adds a very fun element.
The cars are great, the racing is fun. The story is fun, and you can actually play through career mode a few times with various differences if you choose tuner, muscle, or exotic. I've always loved Need for Speed games, ever since I played the very first one on my PS1, and Carbon is a great addition to the line up.
best carbon ever July 9, 2010 carboy to me the need for speed carbon for ps3 is the best need for speed carbon ever the graphics are great and the cars are so much better than the ones for psp and ps2. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Need for speed Carbon July 7, 2010 Eclipse9000 I have this game for PS2 and loved it. Drifting is my favorite part of this game however every aspect of it is great in my opinion. The only way it could be better is if it was trophy supported...
pretty excellent July 3, 2010 Isaac J. Lavoie (Providence, RI) Shorter game play is the largest failing, however nothing can satisfy all critics. I liked the blend of tuner exotic and muscle cars. I mean, why try to buy a fancy car in the real world when 20 minutes and some gaming skill can have you in a merc, or a viper? I liked this game, the physics are just arcade enough to keep it fun, the selection of cars is great, and even the story line is not annoying. Bottom line, I'd recommend it.
Fun Stuff,Fuuun Stuff June 18, 2010 Patrick_91 (Canada) Need For Speed Carbon (NFSC) is a really fun game to play, it takes what made Most Wanted so good and takes it up a notch. In Carbon your character from Most Wanted is back and the story continues from where Most Wanted left off. You also get a nice live action cut scene explaining what happened before Most Wanted took place, this is perfect for people who missed out on Most Wanted.
Some noticeable changes from MW is drift races are now back, however they are much harder than before. Now if you hit a wall your drift is automatically finished, and you are encouraged (read: forced) to keep a drift VERY long in order to get a high enough multiplier to get enough points to win the drift. Cop chases have also been made more difficult in the later heats (3 and above) and can also be fun, yet frustrating if you get into a cop chase while in a race. New additions here are there are now Canyon Races that you have to do to beat the bosses, most of the time these races are easy but sometimes they can be a pain. You have to do the Canyon races in 2 parts, but say you fall off the canyon in the 2nd part, you have to restart from the beginning. The 2nd new addition is you now can take a Wingman into almost every race. You either get a drafter, scout,or blocker, but after about the halfway point the only useful one is a scout.
The story in Carbon is about the main character coming back to his hometown and clearing his name because of some events that forced him from his town 2 years ago. The cut-scenes are well done and are not too hilarious this time around. The ending is kind of daft and seems like a bad closer for a game the spanned a sequel. I can't say much more about the story because I'll probably give away some spoilers.
The graphics in Carbon aren't anything worth mentioning, there PS2-like but do the job for an arcade racer-no complaints from me. Racing in Carbon is the EXACT same as MW no changes at all.
If you haven't played Carbon yet, pick it up. Its very enjoyable!
