one of the better ones February 4, 2009 Caraculiambro (La Mancha and environs) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I played every Need for Speed game they've made, although on various platforms.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted is probably the best they've made in the series, although there are a few close seconds that came before. What came after (ProStreet, Porsche, Undercover) were mostly stinkers. The free roam mode is lots of fun, the game engine is stable, and the physics are convincing without being irritatingly realistic.
Two problems with this one, regardless of which platform you play it on:
1. Lots and lots of mandatory cutscenes. Especially in the beginning. This can be irritating, particularly if you came to race cars and not watch movies.
2. Hope you like getting chased by cops, because cop chases make up easily half the gameplay, and there's no way to turn the police "off." You can't even go for a Sunday drive without cops chasing you after about 30 seconds. I found this irritating. A cop chase once in a while is okay, but there was simply too much of that in this game.
Great Need for Speed Title October 5, 2008 Brad Karge 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Fantastic game that I come back to play every once in a while, The cop chases are fun and the overall game itself is great, I love the real life action scenes. Worth every penny. 5/5
Good drive for the money November 29, 2007 Roger Buzby 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had this game for about 16 months and I still enjoy playing it. The story, once finished, gets old like most games but the driving (and outrunning the cops and competition) is still a blast. There are numerous challenges besides the story line that will challenge your skills at any level of play.
The one down side is the online game play. If your connection is even a little slow you will be slaughtered online but otherwise this is a great game to play and is worth owning in my humble opinion.
Great game November 12, 2007 N. Sahay I was playing NFS Carbon on my friends WII and I realised that I had been missing out on racing games, so I went ahead and bought this and carbon along with my logitech momo racing wheel. Great game, good video, pretty decent graphics. Its a lot of fun, with different types of races and scenarios available. The only thing, I didnt like is that it does not support widescreen monitors so I had to find a user-developed patch to accomodate my widescreen monitor. There is a bug where the mouse pointer disappears; however, everything can be accomplished using a keyboard. I am going to beat this game before I start Carbon.
Horrendous game and physics September 10, 2007 Rafael E. Belliard (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you want a good racing game, get GTR2 or WTCC 2007. If you want a fun arcadeish game, get Test Drive: Unlimited. Most Wanted is just horrendous.
