3 out of 5 stars I spy a fun game for children   June 18, 2010
drebbles (Arlington, MA USA)
"I Spy mystery" is a hidden object game for children featuring "mysteries" such as "Four Letters", "King's Crown", "Broken Machine", "Midnight Mouse", "Knight Fall", and more. Each mystery has three or more case files that need to be solved and before a final puzzle in each case file can be solved. Each puzzle features animation and some puzzles are personalized with the name of the child playing the game.

Aimed at ages 6 - 10, "I Spy Mystery" is a good introduction for children to hidden object games. Each case file contains a list of items to find (the list is also read out loud and players can click on a word to have it verbalized again). Players must find all the objects in each case file as well as solve a final puzzle in order to solve each mystery. Whenever they find an object, it becomes animated - the animation is pretty good. Once you find an object, you can click on it any time you want to see the animation again.

"I Spy Mystery" not only teaches children how to find hidden objects, but reading, visual thinking, logical thinking, and more. While most of the hidden objects are straightforward there are a few clever clues like "a foot with no toes" and "a face with no eyes" that will challenge children's puzzle solving abilities. The puzzles are untimed which makes for a nice leisurely game, however it won't take that long to play the entire game. Parents may want to play alongside younger children, but the game can easily be played by slightly older children on their own.

"I Spy Mystery" is a good hidden object game for children.

Was sold for a mac user, the software cannot run on my mac.
The company does is not providing a phone number, all inquiries must be done through emails, which is very inconvenient.

3 out of 5 stars A little too easy   November 30, 2008

This game should be rated for younger ages than 6-10 because it is much easier than many we have played. There needs to be SOME challenge to make it fun!

5 out of 5 stars Great for 3 years and up!   November 16, 2008
mom2serena (Charlotte, NC)
My girls play these games over and over. My 3 y/o can play alone. Each puzzle has a list of items to find. If you click on the item it will say the word so that those who don't know how to read can play too.

A word of caution: there isn't a hint button, so if you can't find a item, too bad-keep looking. You can back out of that puzzle and enter another, but to eventually win the game you have to find all the items.

Each one has 3 games. Once you win it once, it will let you play again but a little harder. It's the same rooms but different items on the lists. The third round is a little harder than the 2nd.

Both of my girls can win a game on their own.

5 out of 5 stars Terrific Product   June 9, 2008

When I first received the product, I thought it was one that I had already purchased for my grandsons. However, when they began to play it, it was quickly apparent that while it used some of the same games as in other "I Spy" games, it was a totally revamped set of games to play with them. The boys (ages 6 and 3) love it! It is just as challenging as the originals were and gives them a good challenge all over again. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the "I Spy" series of games. Children have to use memory, as well as logic, to solve them and it increases vocabulary beautifully.
