My Favorite...but still have to find out how to get it to work on Vista November 4, 2009 Cashew Diddenoe (Florida) I played this game when it first came out and the kids loved it. Now, many years later and several changes to available Microsoft computers prevalent, I am unable to run it as I'd hoped. I used a DOS emulator, but that gave a smaller, less detailed window and I didn't hear the great music and sound effects that accompany this game. It's a great game, one of my all time favorites. I just need to do a little more work to get it to operate properly. I'm happy I could find it.
Like the teenagers would say, "Rayman Rocks!" October 28, 2006 Blessed_fairy I got this game for my 12th birthday. Once, I played it, I was really hooked on it. I could have played this all night long! It's jaw-dropping.
You can play it on Win 2000/XP now May 20, 2005 sfwriter (Los Angeles, CA USA) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
For fans of this wonderful 1995 DOS game, visit the Ubisoft.com Raymanzone forum - there's an unofficial patch there now (under Hints & Tips) that allows you to play on Windows XP with full sound effects, music, and save functions.
One of the most imaginative, beautiful and well-designed 2D adventure games, with terrific graphics, sprite animation, and music. Also, in its later levels, fiendishly difficult at times, but always orginal and entertaining. It has inspired several sequels, but none as good as the original (though Rayman 2 was also a great game).
This game is perfect March 22, 2003 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This version came with Rayman Gold. It is a really beautiful game. It is a very nice blend of scenery, a cute and funny character, secrets, hard to reach places, and progressively difficult stages and bosses. Plus Rayman, learns to do some nifty things on his adventure. The music and sound effets are on the money. This is a 2D adventure that you'll enjoy! After playing nothing but fighting games since Street Fighter II came out in arcades, I was very happy that my patience didn't ware out while playing this game. You'll enjoy weeks of fun playing this game. I never ended this game before I formatted my harddrive, but had gotten fairly far (over 80% maybe 90% - it tells you how far you've gotten). I think I pulled everything off (that had to do with rayman) so hopefully when i reload Windows 98 (yes, this review was written in 2003) i can continue where i left off. I can't wait to play rayman gold, and all the rest of the Rayman installations. And I can't wait to get back to this one! Oh yeah: I don't remember this game ever crashing on me.
Rayman December 26, 2001 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have been playing Rayman for quite a number of years now, and since I have put Windows 2000 on my computer I haven't been able to play it. I just noticed that the newer one has been made for NT which means I can now play it again. I really miss playing this action filled game. I play this with my grandchildren, my sister and we all enjoy it equally. It is a game for any age person. It is just plain fun!
