5 out of 5 stars good adventure game   August 12, 2010
Cynthia M. Shipley (Naperville, Illinois USA)
I really enjoyed this game. Yes there may have been a few bugs but the story kept me interested. I did use a walkthrough because I'm a casual player so I'm basing my opinion on that. I would definitely enjoy a third installment of this game.

4 out of 5 stars Very Demanding Adventure Game   June 26, 2010
D. J. Bell (Wash, DC)
Microids proves themselves once again to able to hold the adventure game market. If you have ever played Microid series games, you should know what I mean. (This game is full-install if anyone wants to know.) This is not the so easy level introductory adventure user game! This was a very challenging pc adventure game to play. Still Life 2 does use the portage system (which means one can only carry so many items), which I feel made the game somewhat realistic. This aspect was something I missed when I went on to play other games. There is a DEMO available, so you always may want to try this first (however, as you know, it will give away some of the game). I have learned my lesson buying cheap games before research. Newer games are always more satisfactory. The are a few tricks one must learn to master the game on the learning curve. You are given a very handy evidence kit, which I thought was kinda another cleaver introduction by Microids. One must spot to first find, then zoom in to sample. It took some getting use to. This is an on and off setting for a help function. Not everything and needs always needs to be done to continue to the next chapter, but I always try to play in the nature of the game as intended.
All in all I believes this is one of the best mystery adventure games I have played, and it will not easily be forgotten. So I gave it a solid 4 stars.

1 out of 5 stars Sad sequel to spectacular suspense stunner   May 27, 2010

The title pretty much says it all. If you played the first game and loved it as much as we did, don't sully the memory of that fantastic game with this one--it's a total stinker.

3 out of 5 stars The game that will not die   May 14, 2010
VB
Though just about everyone in it does die.

It goes on and on until even one of the characters asks, "Will it never end?!"

It is detail driven to the extreme. Every little detail must be found in each area before the game will continue. It is full of bugs, but none of them were fatal. The game managed to survive all of them and keep working.

This is the third game in this series, and the only one in full 3D. The others are in what has become known as the "adventure game normal" mode. If you don't know, Post Mortem, and the original Still Life precede this title. This game is not a total loss, but the previous titles were a lot more fun to play.

If you have played the other two, you should probably muddle through this one. A sense of closure, perhaps.

Oh, and I was right about Victoria's boyfriend. (inside joke - read my Still Life review)

2 out of 5 stars Really? (spoiler alert)   April 22, 2010

I thought it was pretty terrible,I still liked the style (minus a few glitches), it was just a terrible story... which upset me because Still Life was my favorite game. The story of the first one sticked with you and I was looking forward to figuring the ending out in the second. They just kind of briefly brushed by it, in the end of the 1st Vic was on her way to the west coast to investigate and they don't even mention what happened there and they changed Richard's voice where he basically sounded like a woman (little annoying) in a quick scene...the whole thing was very dissappointing not to mention that they never disclosed the pyscho that she killed in this one, they identify the killer(s) but then don't even tap on the subject of some random guy laying dead outside the house (No, ok then who the hell was that then). Very frustrating, they just half-assed making this one for sales because they knew avid fans of the first would get it, they didn't put nearly as much work into this one.
