Works Great! July 27, 2010 ryan lundgren (huntingdon valley, PA, US) Product works perfect. I've had the joystick now for about a month and there's been no problems with it. The only thing that is kinda a problem is that the joystick doesn't twist. So in flight simulator x you have to control the rudders with buttons which can be kinda annoying. However, this is was a problem that I knew about before I bought the product and because of the slow pace of flight sims you can easily use buttons instead of twisting a joystick. Anyways, great product and I would recommend this to casual gamers like me.
Useless June 5, 2010 A. J. Levin (Canada) Center calibration is off. Veers terribly to the right. Absolutely useless, no driver update has helped. You're better off flying with your mouse and keyboard.
Good controller for the money May 30, 2010 Joshua C. Casey (The Great Northwest!) This is a very good joystick for flight simulators. It is important to know that it doesn't have a twist (rudder) function, so if you plan on becoming a real pro at flight simulators, I recommend getting one with that axis (Logitech makes very good options). This stick is very helpful for those learning to fly aircraft, as the "auto rudder" makes for increased steadiness during flight.
I would recommend this as a great product for the money.
Very pleased with this seller and product May 27, 2010 Vanessa S. Brown (CONCORD, NC, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered the joystick 5 days ago, and it arrived today, just as promised. It came in the original packaging, and looks and performs like new. I am very satisfied with this product and would buy from Niagara's Electronics again. I understand that there is some optional software that you can download from the mfg. website, but my 5-year-old son was able to plug the joystick straight into the computer and play games with it as soon as we opened the box. Very satisfied with the purchase.
Not a good choice for X-Plane May 22, 2010 Curtis G (OC, CA, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'll try to keep this short and sweet. I just purchased X-Plane 9 for my Mac, as well as the CH Products Fighterstick USB, because I'd always wanted one. My young son fell in love with the stick and the game. Because he's awfully rough on the stick, I figured I'd buy an inexpensive one for him, and this one got great reviews. Unfortunately, despite great configurability within X-Plane, the stick is not really suited to the sim. For one, unlike the Fighterstick, there are no trim wheels for elevator or rudder. I've found that I really want a separate rudder control as well without having to purchase pedals (trying to take off in a Cessna 172 with no rudder is no fun, due to P-factor, and being unable to correct for crosswinds is also frustrating), so I want a stick with a twist feature (for yaw). The Fighterstick doesn't twist either.
I'm returning both sticks and going with the Thrustmaster T Flight HOTAS X, because it offers a twist as well as a separate throttle and stick.
This seems like a perfectly decent joystick, but it's just not what I need for X-Plane. And I just learned that trying to play Warbirds with it is an exercise in futility and frustration.
